Family Advocate – - Domus
Domus, seeks a Bi-lingual Family Advocate to work in the Stamford Public Schools to work with youth and their families to achieve academic and social/emotional success. In this elementary school-based position, you will conduct home visits, implement family development plans, meet with young people regularly to help them resolve their struggles, develop action plans with young people, and connect youth and their families with resources in the community.
Required: BA/BS, fluent in Spanish, excellent communication skills, ability to build strong relationships with young people and their families, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ability to work independently and represent Domus in the community, comfort working with families directly in their homes as well as working with young people who may have challenging behaviors.
The successful Applicant will become a full-time employee of Domus and work all school vacations and holidays. Some night and weekend hours required.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school degree, or equivalent;
- Minimum 3 years of relevant custodial, facilities, and/or maintenance experience in a commercial setting (medical preferred, but not required);
- Sufficient command of verbal and written English to read and understand cleaning protocols and communicate with fellow staff members;

- Continuously checks client areas, including 12 exam rooms, to ensure that tables and floors are clean and presentable for clients;
- Clinical & Client Areas: Vacuums, cleans, and disinfects floor, sprays down tables, counters, cages, overhead lights, desks, phones, computers, monitors, keyboards, phones, chairs, door handles, etc.
- Restrooms: Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, etc. Replenishes bathroom supplies. Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
- Floors: Follows detailed protocols for cleaning and disinfecting; uses vacuum, auto-scrubber, and correctly diluted chemicals, dust mop, hand scrubbers, and mops as appropriate.
- Kitchenettes: Cleans and disinfects sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, etc. Replenishes break room supplies.
- Trash: Empties wastebaskets and recyclables and transports to disposal area, separating trash from recycling. Checks garbage cans in clinical and client areas, as well as restrooms and office areas.
